| Martin (Marty) Morales was dubbed the title Wine Guy because of his passion for wine. What does it mean? Well it doesn't mean he likes to complain a lot nor does it mean that he sells it, but it does mean that he loves to drink it and learn about it. His passion for wine began in 2000 during his waiter days at the Olive Garden. They chose him to be a 2002 Wine Ambassador to learn about the Italian's passion for wine food and life. While in Italy, he toured, Rome, Siena, Firenza, Modena, Levico, Trentino, Trento, Verona, Stressa, The Olive Garden’s Culinary Institute of Tuscany located in the 11th century village of Riserva di Fizzano, Rocca della Macie, Cavit and Bertani Wineries and Vineyards. After this tour of Italy, he together with Lori Phinney a fellow OG Wine Server began Vino Ventures, which were trips to Su Vino winery to make their own wine labeled Mi Vino. These Vino Ventures also included visits to Delaney Vineyards, where he met Terry Johnson. Together Marty and Terry produced the Flagship Vino Ventures to cool places like The Cru wine bar and Off the Vine's wine bar. Marty, Lori and Terry formed Wineguy.org in to a non profit organization with a mission to help you learn more about wine. Today, Marty is working together with Kay Zink on a wine project called A to Zinfandel an ebook on everything wine from A -Z. He is also developing Wineguy.org, your wine browser, to learn about wine from wine makers, wine distributors, sommeliers, wine lovers, wine websites and from you. We hope you enjoy the wine and food websites found here on Wineguy.org as much as we enjoy wine. |
